The MBA Opens Doors Foundation is pleased to present the 2020 MBA Opens Doors Community Champion Award to PrimeLending and Steven Thompson, President and CEO. Our awardee has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the Foundation.
The Community Champion award, created in 2013, recognizes an individual, group or company that has dedicated significant time and effort to advance the Foundation’s mission. Since 2016, PrimeLending has made annual leadership level contributions to the Foundation, enthusiastically supporting the Foundation’s efforts with more than $300,000 in contributions.
More than 15 employees from PrimeLending actively donate to the Foundation, with many more people joining the Foundation’s roster through PrimeLending events, such the PrimeLending Sales Rally Auction in which meeting attendees bid on items, with proceeds benefiting the Opens Doors Foundation.
In addition to supporting the MBA Opens Doors Foundation, PrimeLending is also active at the local community level, donating more than $250,000 nationwide through its local branches since the start of the COVID-19 crisis. Their efforts include charitable contributions to food banks, medical centers, community response funds, youth programs, educational scholarships and other nonprofit organizations.
For these reasons and so many more, we are pleased to present the 2020 Community Champion Award to PrimeLending and Steven Thompson, President and CEO.
The MBA Opens Doors Foundation is pleased to present the 2020 MBA Opens Doors Foundation Founder’s Award to the Burke family.
The award recognizes significant contributions to the Foundation’s mission of helping vulnerable families with critically ill or injured children remain in their homes while a child is in treatment. The award recognizes one or more individuals whose demonstrated action has occurred over a sustained period of time. Honorees exemplify the core values, spirit and essence on which Opens Doors was founded.
Since its inception, the mission of the MBA Opens Doors Foundation has been a cause close to the heart of the Burke family. Their support of the Foundation goes well beyond the financial contribution they make to support our Home Grant Program. For the Burke family, helping a family stay in their home when their child is critically ill, is deeply personal.
For Martha Burke, it means being able to do for other families when many did for hers when her beloved older brother Vance Lee Posey, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in October 1966. Vance was treated at a hospital 65 miles away from the Burke family home in Stillwater, OK. Martha’s parents were by Vance’s side throughout his treatment. Vance left the hospital just after Thanksgiving and passed away at home in March 1967.
“Having a place to call home was vital to the survival of my entire family, before, during and after my brother's death,” said Martha Burke. “Thank you for all that you do to help keep families in their homes during the most cataclysmic time in their lives.”
For their kindness, generosity and deep sense of community, we honor the Burke family.
The Spirit Award
The MBA Opens Doors Foundation is pleased to present the Spirit Award to Radius Financial Group Inc.
The Spirit Award recognizes a group of individuals, from one or more organizations, whose enthusiasm and support for Opens Doors brought new people and organizations to the Opens Doors roster of supporters and whose efforts amplified the impact the Foundation has on vulnerable families in America.
In February 2016 the MBA Opens Doors Foundation began accepting applications from Boston Children’s Hospital, one of the top ten children’s hospitals in the country. Radius Financial saw the need and didn’t waste any time in lending their support. Since March 2016 Radius Financial has presented the Foundation with generous monthly donations totaling over $240,000. Their corporate leadership sparked individual support from employees who have now donated over $110,000 personally.
Radius’ support grows each month and their quiet generosity of spirit has permeated the company. With their steady support the Foundation has been able to award nearly $1.3 million in grants to more than 800 families with a child being treated at Boston Children’s Hospital.
For their spirit and ongoing support, we honor Radius Financial Group Inc.
